New Outlook on ADHD

Updated: May 4

Last night I had the privilege of attending a talk with an incredible and inspiring speaker. Dr. Ned Hallowell, a world renowned researcher and speaker on the topic of ADHD. He has written many books on the topic and he was hosted in Orlando by the Reed Charitable Foundation. I have to admit that at the end of a long day, it was really hard to travel downtown and the thought of sitting at a lecture was the last thing I wanted to do. But it was one of the best things I have done professionally and personally! If you haven't had a chance to hear him speak, whether through a live lecture, his many podcasts, or You Tube videos, please look him up! In this world where we see ADHD as so prevalent, misunderstood, and treated behaviorally, it is nice to have hope. I know so many people, adults and children, who are dealing with ADHD and to hear someone put such a positive light and empathetic approach toward it, is truly inspiring. If you or anyone you know is struggling with the idea, or maybe there is already a diagnosis that you are processing, please check out his work. I will end by saying that he reminded me that ADHD is a gift that needs to be unwrapped. Each person is unique and should be embraced and that is a goal in my life!
